Daemie M. Kim was raised in Oregon and attended Glencoe High School in Hillsboro, Oregon. Her bachelor's degree is from Dartmouth College where she studied history and music. Daemie graduated from Willamette University College of Law with her Juris Doctor 2012 and earned academic awards in Employment Law & Discrimination, Advanced Topics in Conflict Theory, Negotiation, and Legal Research and Writing, as well as the Center for Religion, Law & Democracy for Best Graduate Student Paper 2012 award for her paper on retributive morality as applied in death penalty proceedings.

Daemie is licensed to practice in the State of Oregon, the United States District Court for the District of Oregon, and the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit.
